Emily Arthun, the current CEO of the American Coal Council, brings over twenty years of experience in the coal and hardrock segments of the mining industry. Prior to her role at ACC, Emily worked for the Women’s Mining Coalition (WMC), advocating for mining across various industries.
Her Industry experience includes Stillwater Mining Company and Cloud Peak Energy. She serves on
the Washington Coal Club and Women’s Mining Coalition boards.
A native of Montana, Emily now resides in Gillette, Wyoming, known as the Energy Capital of the
World. Growing up on a working cattle ranch in northeastern Montana. She holds a BS degree in
Business Management from Montana State University. Notable in her career, Emily testified in 2025,
before a U.S. House Committee on Natural Resources Subcommittee Oversight and Investigations -
Unleashing a Golden Age: Examining the Use of Federal Lands to Power American Technological
Innovation.
In addition to her professional pursuits, Emily and her husband, Scott, founded Arthun Equine
Services in Gillette, Wyoming. This equestrian facility allows them to impart their enthusiasm for
the rodeo lifestyle to future generations.

Prior to joining X-energy, he served as Partner and Co-Head of North American Power at Hartree Partners. In that role, he led platform development across electricity, natural gas, renewables, and retail while overseeing trading, origination, strategic investments, and commercial operations. He also previously held roles in commodity strategy at Goldman Sachs, commercial strategy at Constellation Energy, and power generation portfolio development at PG&E. These experiences showcase his strength in developing commercial assets and navigating and executing complex energy and infrastructure projects.

Ann Bluntzer Pullin, PhD serves as the executive director of the Hamm Institute for American
Energy at Oklahoma State University. Bluntzer frequently speaks on the geopolitics of the energy
sector, energy policy, the oil and gas industry, and the energy transition. She has over 25 years of
experience in higher education, as a professor and administrator, she continues to lead programs
that enrich student and industry knowledge in the energy and agriculture sectors. She had
previously worked with Texas Cristian University, University of South Carolina, Texas A&M
University, University of Jakarta, Austin Business College, and Warsaw University of Life Sciences.
Ann has also served in executive leadership positions with various nonprofit organizations globally.
She began her career serving in the Foreign Agriculture Service, for the United States Department of
State. Some of her assignments included: Poland, Lithuania, Indonesia, and Australia. Dr. Bluntzer
Pullin holds a PhD in Organizational Management and Education Administration from the University
of South Carolina, and a Master of Education in Leadership & International Studies and Bachelor’s

Prior to joining I Squared Capital, Bill was a Partner in the law firm Gibson Dunn & Crutcher and Co-Chair of the firm’s Global Energy and Infrastructure Practice Group. He has over 30 years of experience representing sponsors, financial institutions, lenders, contractors, operators, and suppliers in connection with a broad range of infrastructure investments internationally.Bill has worked with development finance institutions such as the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation, the International Finance Corporation, and the Asian Development Bank. Celeste A. Connors, who was raised in Hawai‘i, is a recognized international leader with more
than 25 years of risk management and national security experience. As a former Director on the
National Security Council and the National Economic Council under both Republican and
Democratic administrations, Celeste chaired complex interagency processes and advised White
House leaders on energy, trade, environment, and technology strategies. She previously gained
extensive foreign policy experience while serving as a US diplomat in Saudi Arabia, Greece,
Germany, and the US Mission to the United Nations, and as Foreign Policy Adviser to the Mayor of
New York City.
In recent years, Celeste led the internationally recognized center of excellence Hawai‘i Green
Growth focused on economic development. She served as Co-Chair of the Local2030 Islands
Network, a group of 45 island economies working to build community resilience.
Celeste has an extensive background in corporate and nonprofit governance, including serving on
the boards of Hawaiian Electric Industries, the state’s primary electricity provider, and the Hawai‘i
Visitors and Convention Bureau. She served as faculty lecturer and practitioner with the Johns
Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), where she led a practicum
program focused on risk management.
Celeste holds a master’s degree in Development Studies from the University of London School of
Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) and an undergraduate degree in International Relations from
Tufts University. Her husband Paul is a former diplomat and teacher, and they have a son and
daughter in their teens.

Michael D. Day is Eagle Summit Resources Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of
Advisors. Mike graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Science in Mining
Engineering.
Mr. Day has held several senior and executive level positions with Leeco, Arch Coal, Magnum
Coal, Patriot Coal, and Blackhawk Mining. Prior to joining Eagle in 2021, Mike held the position of
President and Chief Executive Officer for ArcelorMittal Mining Operations.
He is a licensed Professional Engineer and recently served as Chairman of the West Virginia Coal
Association. Mr. Day has proudly served on numerous boards including the University of Kentucky
Mining Engineering Foundation Board, National Coal Council, National Mining Association, West
Virginia Coal Association, and Kentucky Coal Association.
Proudly, Mike is a 2026 inductee to the West Virginia Coal Hall of Fame. Previously, Mr. Day was
inducted into the University of Kentucky Engineering Hall of Distinction in 2018 and named
University of Kentucky Mining Engineering Foundation Distinguished Alumni in 2016.
Mr. Day and his wife Jacalyn believe strongly in being involved in their community, where they are
involved in major projects that benefit many youth organizations. The Day Family established the
Michael and Jacalyn Day and Friends Coal Community Endowment Fund to provide educational
scholarships annually to high school seniors in Boone and McDowell Counties in West Virginia. In
2022, he established the Michael D. Day Mining Engineering Scholarship Endowment Fund at the
University of Kentucky. Recently, the Day’s established the Michael D. and Jacalyn Adams Day
Engineering and Education Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Kentucky to support
students from Leslie County High School pursuing a degree in engineering or education.

Paul has extensive experience in the global gas and energy sector, having worked with some of the largest and most sophisticated energy operations in the Asia Pacific.

John L. Hopkins has been at the helm of NuScale Power as the Chief Executive Officer since December 2012 and served on the company’s Board during the same period. He transitioned from the role of Executive Chair after a tenure spanning from December 2012 to December 2021. Prior to joining NuScale, Mr. Hopkins had a notable career at Fluor Corporation, where he commenced his journey in 1989. Over the years, he ascended through various leadership positions entrenched in global operations and business development, ultimately serving as a corporate officer from 1999 until his departure in 2012.
Mr. Hopkins is actively engaged in numerous professional and business organizations, holding influential positions such as a member on the Executive Committee, Audit Committee, and Compensation Committee of the United States Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C. He previously chaired both the Board and the Executive Committee. His experience also includes serving on the U.S. Department of Energy’s Nuclear Energy Advisory Committee from 2019 to 2020, alongside current roles as a member of the Nuclear Energy Institute Executive Committee and as an Energy Task Force Member at the Atlantic Council and IAEA Group of Vienna.
As a senior energy policy advisor at I Squared Capital in New York, Mr. Hopkins has also made significant contributions as a senior executive member on the boards of Fluor Netherlands and Fluor United Kingdom, chaired Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, LLC, and held a directorship with the Business Council for International Understanding.
His qualifications to serve as a director stem from his in-depth knowledge of NuScale and its operational dynamics, strategic relationships with key stakeholders, and extensive experience in management, particularly within the nuclear sector and engineering and construction fields. An advocate, communicator, and entrepreneur, Fred has been a government and public relations generalist for five decades and is a trusted adviser to private and public sector leaders worldwide. Prior to founding LNG Allies (as an advocacy coalition) in October 2013, he represented America's land-grant universities for a dozen years. Early in his career, he served as a legislative assistant for energy and natural resources for U.S. Sen. Frank Church. Raised on an Idaho farm and educated as a civil engineer, Fred earned a B.S. degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In May 2025, the European Union and its 27 Member States honored him with the prestigious Transatlantic Bridge Award (as one of four Americans), recognizing his "invaluable contribution to the energy security of the European Union
[and his] relentless effort to create a transatlantic market for liquefied natural gas."
Fred's professional accomplishments span government relations, legislative advocacy, and coalition building at the highest levels. He is the leading spokesman and advocate for the USLNG export industry, having built LNG Allies into a globally recognized organization advancing energy trade and cooperation. Earlier in his career, he assembled the advocacy and communications team for 76 land-grant universities and helped secure more than $400 million in funding increases over 12 years for the National Institute of Food and Agriculture. At the turn of the millennium he managed media relations for a series of nationwide national cybersecurity conferences led by the White House, directed congressional communications for more than 7,500 family-owned forest products companies, and coordinated the coalition of International Space Station contractors. His legislative accomplishments include drafting major portions of the National Forest Management Act, Public Rangelands Improvement Act, Endangered American Wilderness Act, and Central Idaho Wilderness Act, and helping to create the Frank Church—River of No Return Wilderness, the largest wilderness area in the Lower 48 States.

Since 2018, Steven Kobos has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Excelerate Energy, guiding the company through a period of substantial growth and strategic transformation. Under his leadership, Excelerate evolved from a niche LNG services provider into an integrated LNG and power infrastructure platform with operations across Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, the Middle East, and North America.
During this time, Steven has championed a multi year sequence of initiatives that reshaped the company’s capabilities and long term strategic position. These efforts included deepening the company’s relationship with Qatar through the Nakilat joint venture, building in house operational capabilities, expanding commercial and LNG portfolio capacity, and instituting the governance and systems required of a global public company. He also led Excelerate’s 2022 initial public offering and NYSE listing, along with subsequent equity and debt capital markets activity that strengthened the company’s financial flexibility and access to long term capital.
A significant milestone of his tenure was overseeing the company’s $1.1 billion acquisition of an integrated LNG and power platform in Jamaica—the largest transaction in Excelerate’s history. In this role, Steven directed the strategic rationale, commercial alignment, stakeholder engagement, and integration planning across government partners, lenders, commercial stakeholders, and operational teams. The acquisition expanded the company’s downstream infrastructure footprint and marked a pivotal step in its evolution into a diversified LNG and power platform.
Steven continues to guide Excelerate’s long term strategy, positioning the company as a provider of reliable downstream LNG and power infrastructure that enhances energy security and resiliency around the world. His contributions extend to global industry and policy discussions, where he is a frequent participant in forums focused on LNG markets, energy access, and infrastructure reliability.
Before becoming CEO, Steven spent more than a decade as corporate counsel and a member of the Board of Directors, helping shape the company’s early international expansion and integrated business model.

Maria Korsnick is president and chief executive officer of the Nuclear Energy Institute, the nuclear industry’s policy organization in Washington, D.C., a role she has held since January 1, 2017.
Drawing on her engineering background, hands-on experience in reactor operations and a deep knowledge of energy policy and regulatory issues, Korsnick aims to increase understanding of nuclear energy’s economic and environmental benefits among policymakers and the public.
The Export-Import Bank of the United States has appointed her to its Advisory Committee and its Council on China Competition; and the U.S. Department of Energy has appointed her to its Nuclear Energy Advisory Committee. In addition, she serves as a member of the board of directors of the U.S. Energy Association and the Foundation for Nuclear Studies. She also serves as a trustee of the Nuclear Power Labor Management Cooperation Committee Trust, vice chair of the University of Maryland Department of Mechanical Engineering External Advisory Committee, and a member of the Purdue University School of Nuclear Engineering Advisory Board.
Before joining NEI, she was senior vice president of Northeast Operations for Exelon, responsible for overseeing operation of the Calvert Cliffs 1 and 2, R.E. Ginna, and Nine Mile Point 1 and 2 nuclear power plants.
Before Exelon, Korsnick served as chief nuclear officer (CNO) and acting chief executive officer at Constellation Energy Nuclear Group. She began her career at Constellation in 1986 and held positions of increasing responsibility, including engineer, operator, manager, site vice president, corporate vice president, and CNO.
Korsnick holds a bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering from the University of Maryland, and has held a Senior Reactor Operator license. She lives in Maryland with her husband, and they are the parents of two adult children.

Balaji Krishnamurthy is the managing director of Chevron Australia and president, Australia, for Chevron’s Upstream organisation, located in Perth, Western Australia.
Balaji is responsible for Chevron’s upstream activities and operations in Australia, including the Gorgon and Wheatstone natural gas developments, and participating interests in the North West Shelf Project. He assumed the role in April 2025.
Most recently, Balaji was vice president, Chevron Technical Center, located in Houston, U.S., with responsibility for overseeing technical services in support of Chevron’s global operations, the development and scaling of innovative technology solutions, and the application of engineering standards across the company.
Prior to this, Balaji served as vice president of Strategy and Sustainability and president of Chevron Canada, and he has held numerous positions of increasing responsibility spanning engineering, project management, decision analysis and asset development. He has also spent much of his career in Chevron’s international business units supporting operations in Angola, Canada, Kazakhstan, Thailand.

Ichiro Kutani has been engaged in energy policy analysis since joining IEEJ in 2007; his main field of research is analysis of global energy market and energy security issues with emphasis on Asia. The latest study project engagement includes development of energy master plan for Bangladesh, Japan-Germany joint study on energy transition, and ASEAN Power Grid study.
He delivered lectures and presentations on variety of topics including the global geopolitical landscape, the energy transition, and emerging security risks related to clean technology and critical minerals. He provided testimony to the Upper House Committee on Natural Resources, Energy and Sustainable Society in Japan in 2023.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Kutani has held positions of Leader of Gas Group at IEEJ. Mr. Kutani began his career at JFE Engineering Corp. where he honed his mechanical engineering skills. He holds a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Waseda University, Japan.

Mr. Lipman has more than four decades of experience in the nuclear industry. He started at Westinghouse as a field engineer and has held senior roles overseeing sales, the global supply chain, quality, environment, health & safety, information technology, strategy and sustainability functions. Vern Lund is the Chief Executive Officer of Navajo Transitional Energy Company, LLC (NTEC), the third largest coal producer in the United States. His career spans more than 30 years in coal operations, engineering, and leadership. Mr. Lund joined NTEC in 2021 as the Vice President of Commercial and Operations prior to being appointed to NTEC’s Chief Executive Officer in 2022. In this role, Mr. Lund has emphasized operational excellence, safety, and profitability while steering NTEC toward growth and diversification for the benefit of the Navajo Nation. Nationally, he represents coal producers as a member of the Surface Transportation Board’s Rail Energy Transportation Advisory Committee. His leadership combines technical expertise and strategic vision, positioning NTEC as both a strong energy producer and an advocate for innovation, education, and long-term sustainability in the energy sector.
Mr. Lund holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from North Dakota State University, a Master of Business Administration degree from Auburn University, and he completed the Advanced Management Program at the Wharton School. He is also a retired registered Professional Engineer.

Prior to her current role, Dena served as Executive Vice President and General Manager of NS&E’s

management for the U.S. Department of Energy.
Previously, Dena served as the Manager of Functions for NS&E and was responsible for all of the
people, processes, and execution in the areas of engineering, procurement, construction, startup
and operations as well as their supporting functions. Dena has held leadership roles on a variety
of projects, including project director of the National Nuclear Security Administration’s Uranium
Processing Facility project, a multi-billion-dollar complex in Oak Ridge, Tennessee for processing
highly enriched uranium for U.S. nuclear defense and naval nuclear propulsion. She also served as
project manager of the Sabine Pass Liquified Natural Gas facility in Cameron Parish, Louisiana and
operations manager for all of Bechtel’s nuclear operating plant services.

He has also been actively involved in the global geothermal community, including serving as Vice Chairman of the Indonesian Geothermal Association (INAGA) and representing Indonesia in international geothermal forums.
Throughout his career, Mr. Yunis has contributed to strengthening Indonesia’s position as one of the world’s leading geothermal producers while promoting innovation, sustainable energy development, and regional collaboration in the geothermal sector.

Dr. Thomas Zacharia leads AMD’s global expansion of public and private partnerships, engaging with
governments, NGOs, and other organizations to accelerate the deployment of AMD-powered AI
solutions. These initiatives support a rapidly growing number of global projects and applications
focused on leveraging AI for the public good.
A distinguished industry leader, Dr. Zacharia brings extensive experience in scientific research,
technology development, public policy, and strategic partnerships. Over his 35-year tenure at Oak
Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), he served as Director and oversaw the creation and
implementation of the AMD-powered Frontier supercomputer—the first to break the Exascale barrier.
Frontier, powered by AMD EPYC™ processors and AMD Instinct™ accelerators, has been
recognized as the world’s fastest supercomputer by the Top500 list since May 2022. It has received
multiple Gordon Bell Awards for outstanding scientific achievements and continues to advance
research in healthcare, materials, energy, and more. Under Dr. Zacharia’s leadership, Oak Ridge
established itself as the premier high-performance computing center globally, with four successive
systems ranked No. 1 on the TOP500 list.
From 2012 to 2015, Dr. Zacharia served as Executive Vice President of the Qatar Foundation for
Education, Science and Community Development, where he set the vision for Qatar’s investment of
2.8 percent of its GDP in research and development. He also chaired the Qatar Science and
Technology Park, fostering industry and university partnerships to advance initiatives in public health,
computing, and energy.
Dr. Zacharia is Chair of the Board of Directors for the Nashville Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank
of Atlanta. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology
Karnataka, Surathkal, India; an M.S. in Materials Science from the University of Mississippi; and a
Ph.D. in Engineering Science from Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York.
